Project Overview

Broadcast Management Group was contracted by the Weather Channel to provide live production support, technical management, and production staffing for one of their new programs, “23.5 Degrees with Sam Champion.” The live production took place in an event room at a hotel in West Hollywood, CA. Broadcast Management Group shot four, 1-on-1 interviews for the program over the course of a 10-hour day covering various weather-related topics and issues. Interviewees for our live taping of “23.5 Degrees” included an arctic explorer and former NBA player, John Salley.

Broadcast Management Group hired all production staff locally in Los Angeles to support the live taping of “23.5 Degrees”. Our EVP of Production served as the on-site Production Manager and Media Manager. Our production crew consisted of a DP, second camera operator, and audio operator.

Our live production team was responsible for booking the venue, providing all lighting equipment, audio equipment, and camera equipment, and procuring all pipe and drape for the shoot. The Weather Channel had conducted some additional interview for the program and wanted to duplicate the same look and feel with lighting and backdrop to ensure consistency across each shoot.

All footage was ISO recorded and handed off to the client at the end of the production day.
