Production Manager

Job Summary:

Broadcast Management Group (BMG) is looking for a Production Manager for the ongoing development of a new OTT network. This position will work at a client site in Chicago and serve as the primary liaison between BMG’s full-time staff, BMG’s executive team, and our client. The Production Manager will be responsible for managing full-time and freelance personnel in Chicago, nationwide and internationally. This position will be responsible for booking freelance crews as needed to fill in for employees who are on PTO or out sick and will build and maintain weekly schedules for all personnel – full-time, freelance and part-time. The Production Manager will also be responsible for growing and maintaining BMG’s freelance database. This role requires strong organizational skills and sharp verbal and written communication skills. Our ideal candidate must be a detail-oriented, innovative self-starter with a great work ethic, ability to take initiative and work flexible hours when needed.

Responsibilities:

Primary responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Book and manage local, national and international freelance crews
  • Create and maintain weekly schedules for full-time employees and freelance crews
  • Maintain and expand BMG’s existing freelance database
  • Track PTO requests for all full-time employees and book fill-in freelancers as needed
  • Book freelance crews as needed in short turn-around situations when full-time staff call out sick
  • Serve as the primary point-person and liaison between BMG’s full-time employees, BMG’s executive team and BMG’s client
  • Participate in regular weekly meetings with BMG’s executive team
  • Handle BMG’s new hire on-boarding process
  • Collect and review electronic timesheets weekly
  • Facilitate the distribution of all year-end tax forms for freelance labor and full-time employees
  • Create and distribute crew paperwork, including employment agreements, contractor agreements, withholding forms and enrollment forms
  • Work to schedule regular events for employees – including happy hours, lunches, etc.

Requirements:

  • Experience with production scheduling
  • Budgeting skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and ability to take initiative
  • Attention to detail, strong follow-through and the demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
  • 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Ability to travel when needed
