Digital media company Mashable contracted Broadcast Management Group to produce 3 days of live programming during SXSW in Austin, TX. “The Mashable Show” featured interviews with celebrities, filmmakers and musicians as well as pre-produced video content highlighting some of the major attractions that Austin has to offer. Each day culminated with a live event ranging from an attempt to break a Guinness World Record (for burrito making) to Mashable’s spin on Shark Tank, called ‘Dolphin Habitat’.
Each 90-minute program was streamed live to Twitter and was shot with 9 cameras. BMG was responsible for all on-site technical management, all production labor and managing redundant transmissions to Twitter and Snappy TV. Additionally, BMG helped consult with Mashable on the overall look and feel of the program and helped them to accomplish all of the creative elements that had been laid out at the start of the production.
