Project Overview

Broadcast Management Group was contracted to provide live production support, technical management, and production staffing for a live, global town hall with Hillary Clinton for the U.S. State Department. The live production was shot at the Newseum in Washington, DC – which served as the main anchor location – and featured live satellite feeds from studios in England, Japan, Lebanon, Columbia, Nigeria, India, and Australia, making it a true global town hall production.

Our anchor studio in Washington, DC featured a host, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and a live studio audience. Each remote studio featured an anchor and a live studio audience. Anchors and audience members from all 7 remote studios, plus the anchor studio in DC, all had the opportunity to ask Secretary Clinton questions related to world events. Viewers from around the globe were also able to submit questions via Twitter and Facebook, which were integrated into the live production.

Broadcast Management Group was awarded this project on 6 days before the scheduled production date. In those 6 days, our live production team had to book the studio facilities, book the entire production crew, and book and manage all outbound and incoming transmission paths between our anchor studio in DC and our 7 remote studios around the globe. Despite the technical challenges, Broadcast Management Group helped to facilitate a successful global town hall.
