Advertising and Sponsorship Manager

Job Summary:

This position will work with advertising agencies, public relations firms, and major corporation to advertise and sponsor television programs and live events. The Advertising and Sponsorship Manager will work with BMG’s clients to develop custom adverting and sponsorship opportunities, project revenue streams and then lead the implementation of the plan. This position will need to close sales and meet revenue targets, negotiate complex sponsorship agreements, including sponsorship fees, navigate and foster positive relationships. Leadership and strategic planning, public relations, interpersonal and communication skills are key in dealing with internal and external clients and prospects. This position will work collaboratively with internal staff to identify and support new broadcast content with sponsorship opportunities.


Primary responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Develop written strategic advertising and sponsorship plans with revenue projections
  • Produce weekly reports showing revenue to date and action items accomplished that week
  • Make phone calls, connect online and conduct in-person meetings with potential sponsors and advertisers
  • Drive sales and achieve targets, develop sales go-to-market strategy and maximize revenue opportunities through inventory management
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships at high levels of influencers across agencies and clients
  • Manage day-to-day client/account interaction, including brand partners, media partners, agencies, corporations and other funding entities, production companies or producers
  • Work collaboratively to drive integrated sales programs that focus on client needs and network priorities to maximize leverage and variety of offerings across all content platforms


  • Strategic, detail-oriented with proven sales management experience and a strong expertise in growing advertising and sponsorship sales on a local and national basis
  • Knowledge of pricing for pre-roll, mid-roll, and post roll adverting, pricing for event sponsorships, digital and broadcast show sponsorships and branded content
  • Must be comfortable working in a fast paced sales environment with executives and employees of all levels and in various geographies
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in advertising and sponsorship sales industry
  • Proven track record of generating and growing revenue in media, as well as in sponsorship, branded entertainment, and online or other digital ventures  
  • Exceptional ability to sell directly to clients and develop new revenue streams with a proven track record in overachieving set revenue targets  
  • Strong, pre-existing relationships and credibility with buyers of traditional and interactive media
  • Excellent influencing skills and ability to communicate vision and strategy effectively with senior management, staff and external parties  
  • Analytical and strategic thinker, creative problem solver, resourceful, able to initiate change and motivate innovation and creativity  
  • Exceptional leadership and management skills with training, managing, teaching, and optimizing sales skills and sales process  
  • A Bachelors’ degree from an accredited and recognized institution of higher learning is required with an advanced degree ideal
